Walking on Air

Oh my goodness, I feel like I am walking on air!  I am writing this little post in hopes that it will inspire you toward your healthy weight.  Let me explain

As you know (if you have read my “About” page), I have struggled with weight for most of my adult life.  Well, in the past year or so, I have lost 35 pounds and am keeping it off.  So, today, I went out with my family after dinner to just “move my body”.  We’ve been busy, I hadn’t been working out much in the past week or two, so we decided to go play a little tennis (I am not a good player, I only play for fun).  But, as you know with tennis, good player or not, running is involved.  I can’t believe how good I felt running.  I wasn’t winded and actually felt exhileration.  What a difference a deficit of 35 pounds has made.

The other thing that was great about tonight is that we were out doing a fun activity.  I probably would not have been too excited about going to the local gym to walk/run on a treadmill one more time.  Rather, the entire family had fun (our little girls “played” a little) and we got a bit of a work out into our day.

Moral of the story:  Don’t give up working toward your future figure.  Find your healthy weight, it feels so great.  Also, feel free to do something fun for exercise, rather than the same old thing.  Some days you just need to focus on moving your body.  Don’t worry, you will still burn calories.

Let me know when you feel like you are walking on air.

One Response to “Walking on Air”

  1. Julie Says:

Well, I am not walking on air YET in terms of my extra weight BUT I am feeling better thanks to finding some foods that I was allergic to and elminating them from my diet.
My lethargy from eating them (yeast and garlic!) was leaving me in the mood to NOT want to exercises.
When I avoid these foods I feel much better and able to do my daily walk.
I have also found that listening to a talk on my walk will make we walk longer as I want to hear the end of it (most talks are usually about 45 minutes or more).
When I walk without listening to a talk I am tempted to stop at about 30 minutes, which is still ok but i have heard that you start to burn fat AFTER 30 minutes so it is good for me to go to 40-45 minutes.
Thanks for the good discussion and can I say again, Sheril, that you look fantastic and I am so proud of you for whatever discipline you did to lose your extra weight and feel great!
    Keep up the good work!
    Blessings!!
