Weight Loss Success: Break Free From Poor Nutritional Habits and Get Great Results!

Healthy BreakfastTo break free from poor nutritional habits, there will need to be a significant commitment to lifestyle change. The question to be asked is this: Are you in a position where you will do what it takes to improve your nutrition? Are your current lifestyle and personal habits conducive to you seeing the results you want? Sadly, for many women, these are not questions that they can answer with great enthusiasm or hope. For so long, I too was in a season whereby I could not see a way out of my predicament. I wanted to lose weight, but was not in a place where I was willing and able to do what was required to actually succeed. I had just had my second child, and as a result of that pregnancy, I had developed some bad eating habits that needed to be broken. The problem was that I was extremely busy doing everything that goes with being both a wife and mom and the stress level in my life was fairly high as I went from one thing to the next.

One day, I stepped on the scale and was absolutely frightened by what I saw!The Scale Could it be? Could the scale be trusted? I thought that something had gone seriously wrong with that blasted scale and was ready to throw it away! I had gotten frighteningly close to 200 lbs and was literally scared straight. Something had to be done, but what?

As I thought about everything going on in my life, it became clear that it would be a huge challenge for me to begin any type of weight loss effort, and at the same time, I knew that I had to make some major adjustments in my life and my diet for things to work as I desperately wanted them to. So, I decided that it was time for me to “step up to the plate” and do what was extremely uncomfortable for me…I had to challenge my comfort and my unfruitful thoughts about me not being “ready” for weight loss, and “Just Do It!”

The timing was not perfect, but it never is when you need to do something worthwhile in life. I had spent so much time rationalizing why I couldn’t begin a weight loss plan, but was I really being honest with myself. Truth be told, I was more ready for weight loss than I wanted to believe, but I had been let down so many times by diet programs and nutritional plans that ultimately failed me that I didn’t believe that I was capable of succeeding. Unfortunately, many women find themselves at this very lonely and frustrating place. They want to adopt healthy eating strategies so that they can improve their nutrition. They want to overcome poor eating habits so that they can see successful and lasting weight loss. The issue for many of these women is if they can truly make it happen.

By reading this article, you will learn why weight loss success can be so elusive for so many women. You’ll also learn why you must improve your nutrition if you hope to have any chance or see any significant weight loss results. Lastly, you’ll learn how to eliminate poor eating habits from your life so that you can finally have the weight loss results you’ve been longing to achieve.

Why Weight Loss Success Can Be So Elusive

For one, I think that we women can tend to believe that we don’t need to work hard for it…or even worse…we can trick ourselves into thinking that weight loss success is just plain unattainable. The big question that we must answer is whether we’re willing to do what it takes for us to get the results we want. Before I started on the weight loss program that led me to eventual success, I thought the same thing, but over time, I was able to see that…YES…it is possible! But, what I also realized that it did take a serious effort and major commitment for the duration of the process, and even to this very day. But it was definitely worth it!

It took me time to figure out that all my token efforts would not do the trick, and my blame shifting would not take off that weight that I had been struggling to lose for so many years. I was going to need to roll up my sleeves and make a concerted effort improve my diet. I was going to have to follow through on my plan to improve my health through improved nutrition. Can I ask you a few questions? Please be honest with yourself when you respond. Are you standing in the way of your weight loss success? Are you your worst enemy right now when it comes to following through on a significant weight loss effort? Are you really ready to improve your nutrition and derail the unhealthy eating habits that have been keeping your from your weight loss goals. If so, it’s ok, today can be your day to do something to “right the ship”.  For me, it was the faithful commitment to a 12-week weight loss program called The Enzyme Diet, but for you, it could be something else.  Whatever the case, now is as good a time as any to get moving in the right direction!

Why Weight Loss Will Not Come if you Don’t Improve Your Nutrition

HamburgerIf you’re like me, you want to eat what you want and still be able to lose weight. That sounds so much easier than denying yourself most of the day when tempting and oh so unhealthy foods call for your prompt attention and most urgent consumption. Many women make the decision to spend tons of hours in the gym sweating bullets everyday so that they can eat anything they desire, and though this is a somewhat effective strategy, it’s still not likely to produce the fruit (pardon the pun) that would be hoped for. One very real problem has to do with calorie consumption. When we adopt poor eating habits, we’re likely to consume foods that are very high in calories, sugar, and fat. All three of these likely suspects can produce major damage when it comes to us reaching our weight loss goals.  That’s why its critical that we commit to improving the quality of nutrition we consume on a consistent basis.  When I commited to doing this, I began to experience some very amazing results!  Click to read more about my story and about how I was able to gradually transform my nutrition and my health in 12 weeks.

WSaladhen we gradually improve our nutrition through healthy eating strategies that include lower calorie foods like fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein foods sources, we’re very likely to assist our bodies burn calories so that we will begin to experience “real” weight loss, not something that happens quickly then comes back just as fast. It’s really that simple, though we both know that simple things are not necessarily always easy to do. To provide a quick visual for you emphasizing the importance of good nutrition on weight loss, just imagine what would happen to your waist line in a year’s period of time if you regularly substituted an apple for that donut (or any other unhealthy food your can picture) that you customarily ate every day?

How to Eliminate Poor Eating Habits From Your Life

FrustratedMy suggestion for working to eliminate poor eating habits so that you can experience the weight loss results you desire is to first, examine your life to see what might have led to some of these habits. For some of us, it can be as simple as the “availability” of healthy (or unhealthy) food. Sometimes, we eat in places where there are limited options, and that has led to some poor nutritional choices. Some of these habits can be easily changed with a quick switch to another food establishment or with better planning. Sometimes, however, we have bad eating habits that have developed as a result of personal struggles (ie, family or relationship issues) or other lifestyle-related challenges such as boredom, stress, or finances which might not be so easily resolved. However easy or difficult this may be for us to change, we must start here and we must effectively deal with and resolve these issues if we want to see lasting weight loss results.

One other great way to eliminate poor eating habits so that you can see greatWoman Working Abs weight loss results is to embrace long-term change as a way of life. Don’t worry about how long it will take you to achieve your weight loss goal, but instead, focus on the process of weight loss which will eventually lead you to weight loss success. By focusing on the process, and not the end result, it will help keep the monster of “impatience” from creeping in and breeding discontentment with our lives and with the speed of our progress. If we’re steadily moving in the right direction, does it really matter whether we get there in two months (as opposed to two weeks). This way so far outweighs the quick weight loss approach because by focusing on the process of weight loss, we will have done some serious damage to our poor eating habits and would have significantly improved our nutrition and our health in the process. I’ve learned and am convinced that this is the only true way to weight loss success.  What about you?

I am a stress eater. When under stress food is comfort. Of course then I pay for it. I just wish that bag of Lays potato chips didn’t taste so good! Chips and bread are my weakness.
